Suriya Namaskar
Flow with Sian
10 min · stretch - energise - ground
Suriya refers to sun and Namaskar is a greeting, like hello. So this practice is an acknowledgement or Salutation to the Sun. It embraces the energy of mornings, the rising of the sun and encourages us to gently wake up and stretch the body. This sequence we have called Traditional Suriya Namaskar because it is most frequently found across Hatha Traditions and in India today. It has a soft and gentle approach, unlike the more fiery Suriya Namaskar A and B.
